New Ventures Maine launches on-demand online course, Grow your business onlinewhich is designed to provide small business owners with the tools, skills, and mentorship needed to establish a successful digital presence.
This course is offered free to participants and is made possible through Empower by GoDaddy in partnership with New Ventures Maine, according to a press release from the statewide Community Economic Development Program. The program runs until May 31, and participants can register anytime and work at their own pace.
The course will be offered through an online design and development platform. Entrepreneurs will take courses at their own pace on topics focused on their company’s brand, determining the most effective type of website, creating compelling content, reaching the top of web search results, creating and building a website, making the connection between social media and the website. , using email marketing to increase sales, and understanding cybersecurity to protect customer information.
Entrepreneurs who participate in the class receive free tools:
• domain name and hosting plan;
• access to the web builder (software);
• branded email address;
• email marketing solution; and
• SEO for a period of two years.
Participants engage in remote orientations, work/lab sessions, and drop-in hours with a qualified web developer that are strategically timed for participating entrepreneurs to network and troubleshoot in a remote group environment at the as they develop their online presence. Additional mentorship opportunities are built into the program through a partnership with MicroMentor by Mercy Corps.
